Introduction
The Door document type in the Property Management Solution is designed to store information about different types of doors in a property management system. This document includes details about door type, lock type, whether a screen door is attached, and the colors for both inside and outside of the door. It serves as a part of the property setup and tracking system.
1. Purpose of the "Door" DocType
The "Door" DocType is used to manage and track the following properties of a door:
Door Type (e.g., Wooden, Steel, Glass).
Lock Type (e.g., Deadbolt, Keypad, Latch).
Screen Door Attached (Yes/No).
Inside and Exterior Colors of the door.
This information is valuable for keeping detailed records of door installations and their attributes in properties under management.
2. Key Fields and Definitions
The "Door" document contains the following fields:
Door Type (unique):
Description: Defines the type of the door (e.g., Wooden, Steel). Each door type must be unique, ensuring there are no duplicate entries.
Lock Type:
- Description: Describes the type of lock on the door (e.g., Deadbolt, Keypad).
Screen Door Attached:
- Description: Indicates whether a screen door is attached to the main door (Yes/No).
Inside Color:
- Description: Specifies the inside color of the door (e.g., White, Brown).
Exterior Color:
- Description: Specifies the exterior color of the door (e.g., Blue, Green).
3. Document Setup and Management
3.1 Creating a New Door Entry
To create a new door entry in the system:
- Navigate to the Door document in the Property Management Solution.
Click the New button.
Enter the following information:
Door Type: A unique identifier for the type of door.
Lock Type: The type of lock installed on the door.
Screen Door Attached: Check the box if there is a screen door attached.
Inside Color: Enter the inside color of the door.
Exterior Color: Enter the exterior color of the door.
Save the document to record the entry in the system.
The Door DocType is part of the Property Management Solution module and is used primarily during the setup and management of property features.
